Woman, the new album by Hempress Sativa, fully produced by Paolo Baldini Dubfiles, will be released on March 20, 2026 via La Tempesta Dub. Led by the single Rastaman A Chant [LISTEN HERE], featuring international star Tiken Jah Fakoly, the album comes three years after the release of Charka.
The record takes its title from the eponymous track, a song that gives voice to female resilience and the strength embodied by every woman. Through deeply personal storytelling, Hempress Sativa invites listeners to identify themselves in her words and to find, in this album, and especially in the title track, a space of emotional refuge and personal empowerment.
With Woman, Hempress Sativa aims to deliver a message of strength, gender awareness, and resistance, giving voice to a narrative that brings together spirituality, identity, and determination: “As a Woman, I must challenge the narrative long distorted by patriarchal design. Our power has been minimized, our wisdom overlooked, our voices too often silenced. But silence has never been our nature. This album is an offering to Women all over the globe.”
In addition to the previously mentioned Tiken Jah Fakoly, the album also features a collaboration with Jalifa, an artist firmly grounded in Rastafarian culture and a passionate ambassador of Africa’s musical legacy.
All nine tracks are fully produced by Paolo Baldini Dubfiles. Their first collaboration took place ten years ago, with the hugely successful track BOOM, Wah Da Da Deng. After all this time, and following countless performances side by side, coming together in the studio felt completely natural, resulting in an extraordinary musical connection.
